Local artists Jon Koehler and Neil Shigley recently returned from New York after installing their latest sculpture "Una Pluma" in Manhattan. "Una Pluma" is a 10-foot sculpture that serves as a reminder to the atrocities of child trafficking that tragically occurs around the world. Please find information below about this stunning piece as well as the motivation behind its creation. We hope you will consider sharing this information with your audience.

Baume and Mercier, North America
“When Baume and Mercier and Love 146 decided to partner together for the benefit of children that have been victims of human trafficking we decided to call Neil and Jon.  Our goal was to commission a beautiful and meaningful piece of art that would become the centerpiece of a fundraiser in New York in November 2008.

After one phone call to Neil in which I shared information about the
charity and our association with Love 146, the project came to life.

Drawing inspiration from a poem written by the Director of Aftercare for a safe home in the Phillippines, "Una Pluma"  was the end result of Neil and Jon's vision.

"Neil and Jon 's "Una Pluma" was everything we envisioned and working with them was both a professional and personal pleasure.  Their end work and their dedication far exceeded my personal expectations and I very much look forward to collaborating on our next project together.”
