FreedomStainless Steel / Kinetic Installation – Coronado, California Artist Jon Koehler, formed these abstract shapes representing three stainless steel sails to flow effortlessly with the wind as a symbol of Freedom. The Sculpture ‘Freedom’was commissioned by the City of Coronado, California and installed along the newly developed Glorietta Bay Promenade. Freedom meaning “ choice”, consists of three elements becoming one free-flowing piece on a kinetic axis. The three elements signify the ability to choose and unify: they rotate on a common axis while at the same time they are designed to move independently with their own flexibility. |
