Artist Jon Koehler, created this polished stainless steel sculpture, Waves of Time, as his second piece chosen by the Unified Port of San Diego to participate in the Urban Trees Exhibit.

Urban Trees II is the second round of the popular Urban Trees public art exhibit. During the submission period, the Port received 103 proposals from artists throughout the state and the country. The Port’s Public Art Committee reviewed the proposals and recommended 30 pieces to the Board along with 5 alternates, ‘Waves of Time’ being one of the recommended.

Urban Trees Exhibit began in 2003 to create temporary art sculptures placed along the promenade at the embarcadero of the San Diego harbor. These sculptures will be displayed from February 2005 through February 2006. All artwork remains the property of the artist and may be sold after the one-year loan period ends.

Waves of time was originally on exhibit with the Port of San Diego Urban Tree 2005 Exhibit, purchased for
private collection at the Beck Corporate center, Lake Havasu, AZ.
