Fly Away by Jon Koehler is a sculptural expression of freedom, ascent, and the instinct to move beyond boundaries. Rising 73 inches high, the composition builds upward through a series of organic, balloon-like stainless steel forms, creating a sense of lightness and motion as though each element is gently drifting skyward.
The sculpture is painted with a solid white base layered beneath a translucent blue overlay, creating depth and luminosity across its softly contoured surfaces. As light moves across the work, subtle variations in tone emerge, giving the blue an atmospheric quality that reinforces the sculpture’s sense of openness and elevation.
Poetic and uplifting, Fly Away transforms solid steel into something seemingly weightless—a meditation on release, possibility, and the freedom to rise.
